Morning After Pills
AFTER an episode of unprotected sexual intercourse, “Morning After Pills” may be used as an emergency contraception method to prevent pregnancy. Here’s how they work. “Morning After Pills” disrupt hormone patterns needed for pregnancy. They also disturb the ovaries and the development of the uterine lining. Emergency contraception should be used within 120 hours, or 5 days, after the unprotected episode has occurred, and is 75% to 89% effective.
If Morning After Pills are your choice, A Woman’s Choice will run a sensitive pregnancy test when you are at our facility, obtain your medical history, and supply you with the pills. You will be asked to return in two weeks for another pregnancy test to determine the effectiveness.
