Our History
A Woman’s Choice has been dedicated to quality
healthcare for San Antonio area women since
1958, when two Obstetrics and Gynecology
Physicians and a Reproductive Endocrinology
Physician opened a clinic in the downtown area.
At that time, the clinic served as a clinical
research site for the Southwest Biomedical
Research Foundation.
In 1970, the clinic parted with the foundation
to start offering affordable, quality women’s
healthcare services. Additionally, when the
United States Supreme Court declared that A
Woman’s Choice to have an abortion was protected
under the Right to Privacy in the U.S.
Constitution in 1973, the clinic added abortion
services to its roster of healthcare services.
Hence, the name of this quality health center
became A Woman’s Choice.
Over 25 Years of Experience
In 1986, the clinic moved to its current
location at 920 San Pedro and bore the name, “A
Woman’s Choice Quality Health Center,” adding
Obstetrics and Maternity Care as well as
Pregnancy Sonograms to its roster of healthcare
services. The three founding Physicians retired,
but their legacy lives through the two Board
Certified Obstetrics and Gynecology Physicians
and the Registered Nurse, who is also a lawyer,
who now operate A Woman’s Choice. These medical
professionals have been at the helm of this
quality health center for 25 years and continue
to offer women access to compassionate and
affordable healthcare services.
We Know What Women Want!
A Woman’s Choice is a quality health center RUN
BY WOMEN FOR WOMEN.
The staff of Registered Nurses, Licensed
Vocational Nurses and Certified Medical
Assistants stay in tune with women’s changing
needs because our health center is RUN BY WOMEN
FOR WOMEN. This year, for example, A Woman’s
Choice opened an area of the center called,
“Baby Debut,” where women can choose the latest
in Sonograms, in the form of pictures, videos,
CDs, and DVDS, so mommies- and daddies-to-be can
see their babies before birth.
Additionally, A Woman’s Choice has launched an
area of its offices called, “Le Salon di
Bellezza,” where women can choose from an array
of cosmetic treatments and products to enhance
their beauty.
Both new areas are co-located with A Woman’s
Choice quality health center, and are operated
and supervised by its medical staff.
